The College has highly qualified staff in each discipline and has a favorable teacher-student ratio(1:30). An academic programme include formal lectures, tutorials, Laboratory work, group discussion, seminar, projects,cultura, sports and Literary activities

For the benefit of students, there are two centres functioning in the College:

1. Admission and Examination Wing - It helps the students in all matters relating to Admission, University Examination and issuing of Certificates.

 

The College has setup a Multi Gym and Indoor game facilities for the benefit of the student and staff of the College.The College has beautiful Lawn Tennis Court & Basket Ball Court.
A Cultural Wing is also functioning in the College which provides opportunity to the students to exhibit their talent in dance, music and arts.

Non-Formal and Distance Education Programmes:

In addition to the above, the College is also the centre of Non-formal education programme of IGNOU and Distance Education Programme of Pondicherry University. The IGNOU study centre is located in JNRM campus wherein more than 1300 learners are taking advantage of Open System of education and about 200 students are enrolled in Distance Education Programme of Pondicherry University.

For the students coming from distant islands, there are residential facilities in the Boys and Girls Hostel. At present about 250 girls are residing in the Girls Hostel and about 250 students are availing facilities in the Boys Hostel. The hostellers are also provided free mess facilities.

Computer Centre :

The College has three spacious Computer Centres, one for the Post Graduate and two others for the Under Graduate Students. The Computer Centre is having Internet access and extends computer education to various faculties. CD's on various topics are displayed using LCD Multimedia projector for the PG & UG Students.

N.C.C. / N.S.S :

The College has N.C.C - Senior Division Boys (Infantry) Unit, Senior Division Girls(Infantry) Unit and a Naval Wing. The College also has a National Service Scheme (NSS) with one unit for Girls and another for Boys with total intake of 400 NSS Volunteers. Admission is given to those Undergraduate Students who can continue in the Scheme for two years.

College Library :

The College has a library with nearly fifty thousand volumes in all the relevant subjects and subscribes nearly 85 journals. The College has spacious reading room facilities for students and staff.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


 

 

 

Every student of UG/PG Courses shall be given one library Borrower's Card on admission. UG/PG students can borrow three books at a time.


The Library Card shall be returned to the library before taking their Hall ticket to appear in the University Examination or at the time of applying for Transfer Certificate, whichever is earlier in the normal course.
All the students are advised to maintain perfect silence in the Library premises.

a) Loss of books:


i. The books reported to have been lost shall be either replaced by the latest edition or paid for at the latest price plus 25 percent of the price as fine within a period of one month.


ii. In case the book is out of print or rare and the latest price is not available, the Librarian will decide the amount to be charged


b) Over Due:

An overdue charge of Re.1/- per day will be leived if a book is kept beyond the permissible period. In case the period exceeds one month, apart from the fine at the rate Re.1 per day, the library membership is liable to be Suspended.Cancelled.


c) The librarian is empowered to recall any book at any time if necessity arises.


d) Manuscripts, reference books, journals, magazines, rare books are not to be issued. These are to be referred in the Library room.
