The
First Bachelor Degree Course in Computer Applications (BCA) of these Islands
started in the academic year 1999-2000 and it was upgraded to Master Degree
course in Computer Science in the year 2004. The Department aims at imparting
quality education in Computer Science & Applications through post-graduate
& under graduate programmes. The department admits 30 students every year
in the BCA program and 15 students in the M.Sc.(Computer Science) program.
There are two separate Labs one for Under graduate and the other one for Post
Graduate programme. The students are encouraged and motivated to update themselves
with the recent happening in the field of Information Technology. The
study of computer science leads to and requires the ability to analyze ideas,
to think logically, and to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.The
students of this department are well placed in many reputed companies like
HCL, WIPRO..etc..
