Department of Homescience came into existence in 1974. Homescience was an Elective Subject for all Under Graduate (UG) courses (BA/B.Sc.,/B.Com) during the Academic session 1976-77. From the Academic year 1988-89 onwards B.Sc. Homescience is being offered to students as full fledged course.
MISSION:
The mission is to sensitize the students to understand the Socio-economic,
Nutrition and Health status of women & Children in Rural areas, to motivate
and equip the student towards self employment and to start enterprise, to
train the students to work in the NGO’s to enrich the knowledge of students
for pursuing higher education.
VISION:
The vision of our Department is preparing the students to develop values and
skills to promote, personal, family and social responsibilities. The course
aims at training the students as wise consumers, systematic Home makers,.
Homescience students may start their career as Dietitian, Diet consultants,
Food Analysis’s, Laboratory Technicians, Interior Decorator, Fashion
Designer, Pre school / School Teacher , Subject Matter Specialists, Scientists,
Extension Officers, CDPO, Mukhiya Sevikas and successful Entrepreneurs.
